Through-out high school I always knew that my career path would be in early childhood education, I really love working with children, every-day is so different, things are never, ever the same.
My getting started story is simple; I was browsing subjects relating to Early Childhood and clicked on the ACE website. From there I was offered a Scholarship and here I am today with my Certificate III completed. To anyone out there I would say go to ACE and get out of your comfort zone. This is a place you will want to be.
I’m looking forward to a big and bright future. The next step is a Diploma in Early Childhood and then on to University.
REFLEXOLOGY
I’m new to the local area, busy getting to know the community and finding my way around. I saw the ACE College in town, picked up a course guide from the stand out the front and decided to go in and get started.
I have a Degree in Computer Science and was looking to broaden my skill set to increase my employability outlook here in Lismore. To anyone thinking of signing up for a course I encourage you to try. I check all the new course guides as they come out to see what is new and happening next. The accessibility of the College and the friendly, caring, professional trainers made all the difference for me.
I wanted new challenges and decided to make a transition into family day care after 25 years of holding a degree in Primary School Education and working in a range of children services.
Starting my own business is really exciting. The ACE College is just across the road which is very convenient, as a busy working mum time is important. After visiting ACE in Lismore and meeting everyone, I decided this was meant to be! They are so beautiful and flexible.
I can remember my first day in class, when I stepped into the room the atmosphere was immediately friendly. I would love to encourage others to step-out, explore their dreams and passions. Life is full of adventures waiting to be explored.
I’ve actually completed a few ACE courses, but first found out about this qualification through a flyer in the mail box! Really it was a no decision, decision. I’d had a good experience in the past, the teachers are so helpful and the location is really convenient for me. So I enrolled.
The truly outstanding support the trainer gave to everyone in the class and on an individual level really exceeded my expectation. She is a star, always had time to answer questions and we could email her in between classes if we needed support.
I have full time employment in the industry, I’m really happy using my skills to help provide quality service and care to the residents I work with. Thanks ACE!
My background is in finance, but I decided on a complete career turnaround. The College in Lismore gave me the perfect opportunity to upgrade, improve my skills and gain my Certificate III. I knew from the first day that I was going to get the training I needed. The trainer was fantastic, she made perfect sense.
This new career path means I can contribute something valuable to the community I live in. The care sector is definitely a growth field. Within four weeks I secured as much work as I needed. I’m part way through my Certificate IV in Aged Care and will be looking to combine my Degree in Music into my work in the Care sector as I go forward.
I had always worked within accounting areas of business. I took the leap, left my employment, a risky decision being a mother of one at the time. Gaining my double diploma in Community services coordination and Community services work has enabled me to secure a permanent part time position within the community aged care sector as a Coordinator. I love my work.
I now have opportunities for continued education whilst supporting the elderly to stay living in their homes longer, enjoying quality of life and supporting a wonderful group of care workers.
If you see something you feel you would like to do, go and talk to the staff at ACE, they offer amazing support for you to achieve your goals. Nothing should hold you back.
I was looking for something to do after the birth of my daughter and wanting to expand my skill set to better my work options. Now I’m co-running my own business (wood fired pizza) and learning all the things that come with that.
But I’m always checking out the ACE brochures to see what I may be interested in next. You have to take opportunities as they come to you. I found training here flexible, affordable and accessible. The course was a great first step back into the world for me.
My motivation to start training has changed me and my life for the better. I never thought that I would or could be a nurse. Now I have a new career path and the start of a whole new chapter in my life.
Even if you don’t want a career change, learning and mastering a new skill is very empowering. You get to meet great people both in the class and out. Everyone has had a different life journey and we all have something important to contribute.
After completing my ACE training I felt very confident and decided to undertake further study. I have just finished an 18 month online course to become an EEN or Division 2 nurse.
Share your skills with others and make a difference, now wouldn’t that be something!
That ACE continues to attract and retain quality trainers (the reason I enrolled) says a lot about the organisation, its people and commitment to our community. I have no hesitation in recommending ACE to anyone.
Completing this qualification was a requirement of my employment, but it has meant so much more. For me ACE has been supportive at every step, they are part of the community, have been here for a long time and understand the local area.
I heard fantastic reviews about the quality trainers and I could access fee support – I enrolled and never looked back.
Diploma Children’s Services
A change in career was on my mind. I signed-up for a full time traineeship whilst doing my Certificate lll and Diploma; this meant I was able to gain hands on experience. I realised quite quickly how much I enjoyed working alongside children of all ages and their families and the local community.
Now I’m completing my Bachelor of Education (birth to five years) at university. With my Diploma through ACE already included within my bachelor (recognition of prior learning), I am aiming to finish university within two years.
Go out and start your study!
You only live once. In the last five years I have completed my Certificate and Diploma in Children’s Services with ACE and I am halfway through a university degree. This decision has led me to travel the world.
