Computer Basics

Using computers and technology is fast becoming the new day to day normal for work, home or study. This short course is designed for everyone with little or no computing experience but wanting to improve their skills. Gain confidence and familiarise yourself with basic computer functions. In this brand new one day format, your learning is delivered in our Technology Hub and will target these areas:

1. Hardware are Software Basics: operating systems, how to navigate the system to access files and programs, use a keyboard, mouse and manage USB plug-in devices.
2. Internet and Emails: Searching tips, search engines, URL structures, safe browsing, emailing how to, attachments and email safety.
3. Microsoft Word: Layout, word documents and templates, opening existing documents, editing, formatting, inserting images, saving and printing.
