Course
Description
We could all use a bit of calm in today’s bustling world. This holistic meditation course is designed to help restore and reset, incorporating a variety of useful techniques.
Begin with an introduction to the Alexander Technique, a method to improve posture and freedom of movement, as well as release stress and tension. Next, explore Qigong and the basic energy flow involved in coordinating slow, gentle movements with your breathing.
Practice body scans, understand the body/emotion/mind connection, and develop your body intelligence and inner trust. You will also learn to cultivate a meditative state in both seated and walking/standing positions.
You will have the opportunity to discuss your struggles and successes in meditation with the class and share supportive feedback and suggestions. This course runs for six sessions, over six consecutive weeks at our Murwillumbah campus.
TRAINER
Karl Baumgartner has been practicing meditation for over 40 years. He began as a teen, enjoying the personal growth and healing benefits, before pursuing a full-time training course in the Alexander Technique, a Diploma of Psychotherapy, and exploring the art of Qigong.
“I am advocate for meditation to improve health, happiness, intuition and a sense of purpose. In my meditation course, you will be encouraged to sit with ‘whatever is’, not trying to forcefully guide the process. In this way the body mind complex can slowly release, heal, and find its natural happiness.”
