Description
This Introduction to Storytelling, Performance and Spoken Word – Part 2 course is available to students who have already completed the Introduction to Storytelling, Performance and Spoken Word – Part 1.
It is a brilliant opportunity for anyone who has a story to tell and wants to use storytelling as a way to engage an audience in performance delivery.
You could already be in performance art, a writer, artist, actor, working in the theatre, creative or student.
No specific experience is needed, just an interest to explore storytelling and performance practice, a desire to tell a story and convey it with intention and clarity.
Over three sessions you will develop your skills and confidence in public speaking, communication, develop your voice, listening skills, movement and concentration to enhance your storytelling capabilities.
Explore and refine your skills with coaching from a professional theatre director at an accessible price.
This course runs for three sessions, over three consecutive weeks at our Lismore campus.
TRAINER
Frederick Copperwaite is a Bunuba man from Western Australia. He began his storytelling journey at university, joining the student theatre in 1978. He graduated as an actor from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and has extensive experience working in the Australian theatre, First Nations theatre, film and television industry as well as internationally.
He is a co-founder and co-artistic director of Moogahlin Performing Arts, and has taught children, young people, acting students, emerging theatre artists and professional actors in a variety of training environments in Australia and Europe for 35+ years. He has also worked extensively with young Aboriginal people and community, particularly in urban and regional NSW.
