Course
Description
Learn the cosy art of crochet in this relaxing, two-session workshop. The perfect way to unwind, increase mindfulness and get creative. The repetitive motion of crochet can help calm the mind. It’s fun, versatile and you will pick it up in no time.
Use a hook and yarn to practice basic stitches and learn their pattern abbreviations. Understand stitch tension and how different sized hooks & stitches can benefit your creation.
Once you have mastered these techniques, you will put your new skills into action by creating your very own ‘granny rug’.
This brilliant course is suitable for beginners, or anyone wanting to refresh their current skills in this craft. This course runs for two sessions, over two consecutive weeks at our Lismore campus.
TRAINER
Kate Hogan loves to create. Whether it be knitting, crochet, applique, quilting or sewing, she loves the satisfaction of making something beautiful – and even better, gifting it to family and friends.
“I have been doing ‘anything craft’ from a young age, and particularly love crochet for the peace and well being I experience, while making a wonderful article of clothing or item for the home.
I usually have a number of projects on the go at any given time, and the beauty of crochet, is I can take my projects with me wherever I go. I am excited to be teaching this craft to others, and watching the joy they experience when creating their own creative piece of work.”
MATERIALS
Students to purchase their own wool (3-4 balls in colours of their choice, 8 ply preferable) and bring their own crochet hook – size 5mm.
