Course
Description
Crochet is a popular craft where a hook is used with yarn to make beautiful clothing, blankets, household items and more. It’s a relaxing and creative outlet, and super easy to learn.
This hands-on course covers the very basics of crocheting in both theory and practice. Gain an understanding of the types of hooks, yarn options, basic stitches, tools, crocheting terminology and how to read a simple pattern.
Use your new skills to complete a small project of your choice – either a coaster with a picot edging, a twisted headband or a crossbody bag.
This course is perfect for the absolute beginner and runs for two sessions, over two consecutive weeks at our Murwillumbah campus.
TRAINER
Helen O’Shea’s background is in office administration and IT, but her creative passions really shine in all things sewing, knitting and especially crocheting. She fell in love with the art of crochet at a young age and has honed her craft over the last 40 years.
“I truly enjoy the process of crochet, holding the hook in my hands and the feel of the yarn. It’s a meditative process to undertake and so rewarding to see the project begin from a simple chain and transform to a complete garment. Perfect to keep or gift to friends and family!”
