Introducing our Storytelling, Performance and Spoken Word workshops, coming to town in July. A set of three, accessibly priced classes, designed by professional theatre director Frederick Copperwaite.
Break out of your shell, develop confident communication skills, and maximise audience engagement. You will practice public speaking, voice work, movement, listening and concentration skills. We’re honoured to have one of the best of the best in the theatre world join us in the Northern Rivers to mentor local students.
Frederick Copperwaite is a Bunuba man from Western Australia. He began his storytelling journey at university, joining the student theatre in 1978. He graduated as an actor from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and has extensive experience working in the Australian theatre, First Nations theatre, film and television industry as well as internationally.
He is a co-founder and co-artistic director of Moogahlin Performing Arts, and has taught children, young people, acting students, emerging theatre artists and professional actors in a variety of training environments in Australia and Europe for 35+ years. He has also worked extensively with young Aboriginal people and community, particularly in urban and regional NSW.
