A shift in perspective is all it took for Da to change her world. Having experienced the highs and lows of Covid-19 last year, she bravely decided that 2021 was the year to get back on track.
“I was working before in administration but have always wanted to work with children in early childhood. I did not think I could do it but after Covid, I wanted to try something new”.
Taking the first step by applying to the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course, she quickly found her rhythm with mentoring from trainer Julene Muir. The bits she will never forget? The convenience of the Canvas e-learning platform, Julene’s great advice and the valuable work placement experience.
“English is my second language, so I always found it hard to study and get a good job. This College really helped because it is informative and supportive. I feel like I have more knowledge and confidence. Now I feel excited to apply for any early childhood job – and I feel like I have a chance. The Centre I completed work placement even asked me to apply there!”
